Our province stretches over 4183 km², which allows a wide range of sceneries fully combining sea, mountain and sun, for the pleasure of the eyes.

Vallespir

 

Vallespir has an average level of 20 m over the sea. Its summers are warm with an average temperature of 25° C, but you always can enjoy fresh air thanks to its beautiful forests. However, winters are colder than they usually are in the other parts of the province.( 5°C average).

Leaving Ceret ( a lively traditional town, major early cherries producer, and place of great interest with its Modern Art Museum) you are 30 kms away from Perpignan, 20 kms from Spain and about a hundred kilometers from the ski resorts.

Vallespir is the highest Southern valley in our province. It is famous for its Spas (Le Boulou, Amélie-Les-Bains, 4th spa and climatic resort in France as well as Prats de Mollo).Vallespir will attract nature’s lovers.

     

Albères

 

It has an average level of 50 meters above the sea, hot summers (28°C average) and mild winters (8°C average)  

Leaving Sorède (a major place for its nettle trees), you are 20 kms away from Perpignan, 7 kms from the sea, 20 kms from Spain and about a hundred kilometers from the ski resorts.

Albères, as it defines a natural borderline between France and Spain , plunges Pyrénées into Mediterranean sea.  

 

Aspres

 

It has an average level of  100 mètres above the sea,  very hot summers with a daily average of 30° C and more than mild winters with an average of 12° C.

Leaving Thuir (a well-known town for having the biggest oak-wooden vat in the world), you are 15 kms away from Perpignan, 25 kms from the sea, 35 kms from Spain and 90 kms from the nearest ski resorts.

Aspres, defined by the Tet Valley at North, and the Tech Valley at South, is a Romanic Art impregnated region.

You can find there the Castelnou scenic village located only a few kilometers from Thuir.
